Faded Rose
12 x 12 in Oil and Cold Wax on panel
Faded Rose is a small abstract painting built through layered oil and cold wax, where warm red and blush tones are softened by pale neutrals and subtle abrasion. Part of the Spectrum Series, the surface holds traces of earlier colour—flecks of turquoise, grey, and muted earth tones—partially obscured and revealed through successive layers.
Rather than presenting a single focal point, the painting invites slow looking, allowing texture and colour to emerge gradually. The overall effect is weathered and quiet, suggesting memory, time, and the gentle fading of intensity rather than its loss.
