Winter Driving

20 x 24 in    Oil and Cold Wax on panel

Sold through Carleton Place Gallery

Winter Driving is a restrained abstract landscape inspired by the experience of travelling winter roads, where colour fades and attention sharpens. A pale, weathered sky rests above a muted grey expanse, built through layered oil and cold wax and reworked to reveal subtle marks beneath the surface.

Three small red squares punctuate the horizon, suggesting tail lights, markers, or a moment of focus within an otherwise hushed scene. Textural variation and quiet contrast invite close viewing, capturing the stillness and subtle motion of winter travel.
